OBJECTIVE:

You and your classmates are organising a short stay in Hastings to study English in an English Language School. As there are lots of interesting things to see and do in Hastings, in its surroundings, and in London, where you are going to spend the last week-end, you have the task of organising a fun and educational trip. Create a Power Point presentation where you give information about the above mentioned places and you explain your ideas and your proposals.
  • Using the Internet, plan a seven-day trip to England with your school mates and prepare a presentation about it.
  • You are leaving from Barajas airport on 13th May and coming back on 20th May.
  • Check what the weather in England is like in that period and think about what to pack.
  • Check the time of the flights, how to travel from Gatwick airport to Hastings and back, what to buy (presents).
  • For each day decide what to do in the afternoons and in the evenings (entertainment of any kind: theatre, cinema, etc.
  •  Check the prices and the names of the places/shows).
  • Think about how you would like to spend your day in London.
  • Look for information about the most typical English dishes and decide what you would like to eat for lunch.
PROCESS:

Then, choose which parts of the town you would like to see:
Don't worry about the museums, group 5 is working on it.
 GROUP 5:

  1. Choose a museum to visit in London. We won't have enough time to visit more than a museum, so, when you choose, think about what might interest your classmates but take into account the cost of the tickets as well. Some national museums are free. Before making a choice, write down what the main attractions of each museum are, and say why you are interested / not interested in visiting it. Don't forget to have a look at where each museum is located (if it is easy / not easy to reach from the city centre).
GROUP 6:

  1. Decide what presents to buy for your family. Besides personal money, you have a budget of 200 £ to get four presents for four teachers who are going to retire at the end of the school year (two male and two female teachers)
